ECBOR Good Neighbor Program

MISSION AND PURPOSE
The Elkhart County Board of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recognizes one REALTOR® & one Affiliate Member annually who have made exceptional contributions to improving the quality of life in Elkhart County. Whether it’s volunteering on behalf of a local organization that provides affordable housing, volunteering to improve the lives of children in our community, or fundraising for a Non-Profit (c)(3), ECBOR wants to recognize the efforts of our members who volunteer their time to make Elkhart County a better place to live.
AWARD
Each winner’s non-profit will receive a check for $1,500. The Non-profit must be a 501( c )(3) in order to receive funding. *The non-profit must benefit those who live in Elkhart County.
CRITERIA
- Nominees must be a primary member in good standing with the Elkhart County Board of REALTORS®
- Nominees must be active practitioners as certified by their Managing Broker or Employer.
- Previous recipients of this award will not be eligible for nomination (will apply in the future)
- Nominees will be judged on their level of personal contribution, but contributions of money, materials, and other resources will be considered.
- Some portion of the Nominees’ volunteer time must have occurred in the 16 months prior to the nomination, but ongoing efforts outside of this timeframe demonstrate a depth of commitment and will also be considered.
- Nominations & attachments must be submitted electronically through www.ecbor.com. No other nominations will be accepted.
RULES
Members may nominate themselves or may be nominated by another REALTOR®, Affiliate, family member or a representative from the organization where they volunteer.
ECBOR staff and their families, current ECBOR Selection Panel and their families, any sponsors affiliated with this Program, employees and their families are ineligible to participate.
Award winners must be willing to be interviewed, photographed, filmed, and posted on social media and other appropriate marketing vehicles. Additionally, the winning REALTOR® will agree to participate in the Indiana Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award. *Affiliate Winner will be recognized by ECBOR only as the State and National programs only allow for REALTORS® to participate in the Good Neighbor Award.
Award monies will only be granted to non-profit organizations who enhance the lives of those who live in Elkhart County. The Selection Panel will verify the credentials of the volunteer organization to ensure they meet the non-profit 501(c)(3) criteria. The selection Panel will be made up of 3 members of the Member Engagement committee with one alternate. The Panel will select the GNA Award Winners. Winners chosen by the Selection Panel are final.
DEADLINES
Applications open MAY 4th, 2026 on ecbor.com. Application Deadline is May 31st 2026.
The WINNING REALTOR® will automatically be submitted as a nominee for the Indiana Association of Realtors® Good Neighbor Award. Nominations for the IAR GNA award open on June 1st. Winners of the IAR GNA are announced at the annual IAR Fall Conference on August 30th – 31st in Indianapolis.
