Education & Ethics
Upholding Standards, Strengthening Professionalism
At the Elkhart County Board of REALTORS®, we believe education and ethics form the foundation of a successful real estate career. As part of your membership, you’ll participate in required trainings and stay informed about the professional standards that guide our industry.
New REALTOR® Member Orientation
All new REALTOR® members must complete New Member Orientation, which is done online and includes Code of Ethics, Fair Housing, and Paragon Academy (MLS Members). New Members have 30 days to complete COE & MLS training and 90 days for Fair Housing.
NAR Code of Ethics Trainings & Fair Housing Training
REALTOR® members must complete 2.5 hours of COE Training and 2 hours of Fair Housing Training every 3 years to maintain their REALTOR® membership.
Code of Ethics Enforcement Process
ECBOR follows NAR’s structured process for enforcing the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. If a complaint is filed, it is reviewed by the Professional Standards Committee, which may lead to a hearing if necessary. This process ensures fairness, accountability, and the integrity of our profession.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Education doesn’t stop after orientation. To maintain your license and stay competitive, ongoing learning is essential. ECBOR members have access to a variety of continuing education (CE) options that make it easier to keep current with state requirements and industry trends.
